A lightning-fast overtime finish

In Boston on Tuesday night, January 27, 2026, David Pastrnak scored just 15 seconds into overtime to send the Bruins past the Nashville Predators, 3–2. Pastrnak redirected a pass from Charlie McAvoy, ending a game that had swung sharply after Nashville battled back from an early two-goal hole.

Pastrnak’s night included a goal and an assist, continuing a strong stretch of production and helping the Bruins secure a win in the second game of a back-to-back. Boston received scoring support from Morgan Geekie and Hampus Lindholm, while Jeremy Swayman turned aside 28 shots.

Predators rally, but fall short

Nashville forced overtime by tying the game in the third period, with Roman Josi and Nick Blankenburg scoring to erase Boston’s early advantage. The Predators generated pressure and pushed the pace late, but overtime ended before they could establish sustained possession.

The game also featured a late first-period injury for Nashville forward Fedor Svechkov after a hard hit; he did not return. Despite the rally, the Predators left with another narrow loss as Boston’s top-end finishing decided the outcome almost immediately in extra time.

Up next

Nashville is scheduled to visit the New Jersey Devils next, while Boston hosts the Philadelphia Flyers. Both clubs continue a packed midseason run as teams jockey for position and try to bank points ahead of the stretch drive.
